We drove 1300km in 6days, started from Christchuch to Mount John,Mount Cook, down to Queenstown,Dunedin and back to Christchuch again. Seen more sheeps than people, mountains,lakes,mountain,lake,mountain,lake.......the mountains always bold, not green as we always imagine. The blue colour lakes scattered everywhere. Sheeps always busy  with  grasses. This same scenery will continue for hundreds of kilometers before we reach another city.

Along the way we   stop at  'look out' area for little rest, enjoy the scenery, take photo...and continue again. Eventhough the destination was hundreds kilometers away, we just need few hours to reach them. Hardly seeing other car on the road, thus speeding above 100km/hr was not a problem, except in the city as speed camera detector seen everywhere.

Christchuch collapsed due to earthquake? yes, but not the entire city. I guess not even 10%  of city buildings effected.  Most people already back to their usual life & no problem at all in finding hotels, food and whatever we need.
